The West Penn Trail is a little less known trail, but offers some spectacular views.  I rode on the Conemaugh River Lake Section, which totals 6 miles in length.  Along the way, you pass over four stone arch bridges, carrying you over the snaking Conemaugh River.

The Conemaugh River offers wildlife such as ducks, geese, and crane which one should be able to view on most visits.  Also, seems that both times I was there, I saw people fishing, so you may want to bring your pole and bait along!

At the end of the trail, you are greeted by a closed off train tunnel.  At first, I was a little disappointed in this fact.  After climbing up over the hill that the tunnel goes through though, you realize why it is closed off; the Conemaugh Dam is on the other side of the would be tunnel.  Upon realizing this fact, I was quite pleased the tunnel was closed!

Points of Interest: Four Stone Bridges, Conemaugh River, Conemaugh Dam.
