The
Steel Valley Trail is an important missing
link of the Great Allegheny Passage. When completed, it will
connect riders with to the Montour Trail, the Youghiogheny River Trail
North, and the Three Rivers Heritage Trail. Currently three separate
sections exist; one in Glassport, one in Homestead (the Water Front),
and across the river from Homestead.I have not ridden on any parts of the trail, since there is not much to ride on yet, but eventually, the trail will carry you past Duquesne, Kennywood, and into Homestead. Following the Monongahela River into town, this should be a fine addition when completed, allowing a direct ride from DC to Downtown Pittsburgh!
