South Carolina was quite an enjoyable ride. One reason being that we met up with the PediCab Man, Jim, in Charleston. Making our way to the downtown area, Jim led us through the back streets, giving us the tour the whole way. Screaming out what buildings were and waving to everyone he knew, I felt like we were riding with the Mayor of the City! We followed him to his place of work, the PediCab Barn. Once there, he took us for a tour of the areas we had not yet seen. He even let us drive the cabs for a bit. Jim was another great person we met along the way. Having ridden cross country and having done a lot of bicycle touring, we were able to share war stories from the road with him.
Another highlight from South Carolina was passing through Myrtle Beach during Black Bike Week. The street were lined with sport bikes. Thousands and thousands of bikers were everywhere. It made the ride very entertaining.
