The Mon River Trails in West Virginia are a nice change of pace for someone looking for some new trails other than in Western PA.  They are located right off of I-79, making them a reasonable drive for anyone from Western PA.

Unfortunately, I can not provide to much information on these trails since I only rode on them once.  To top it off, I did not do much research before riding them, so I did not go to far.  I did ride a portion of the Caperton Trail and the Mon River Trail South.

The Caperton Trail is paved, so you will see a lot of local WVU students, walking, jogging, and rollerblading.  As for the Mon River Trail South, it is the traditional limestone.  There were a few dams that I passed on my excursion, but that was pretty much it.

I have heard from a few people that the Deckers Creek Trail is an enjoyable ride.  So if you are in the area, you may want to check that one out.  I plan on riding all of these trails in the future, so hopefully I will have more to comment on.

Points Of Interest: Various Dams, WVU.
