Mississippi
was another state that we were in for a relatively short time.
While we were there, we did try to make our way to Gulfport, MS,
where hurricane Katrina actually landed. Once in the city
limits, everyone told us not to go to the shore, since it was
similar to a third world country. Taking their advice, we
pushed onto Biloxi where we spent the night. The next
morning, we did go to the coast in Biloxi, where the signs of
Katrina were everywhere. Buildings were torn apart or just
no longer there and only one hotel was open. The road that
we wanted to take out of the city was actually closed since a
bridge on the path had been washed out.
