Louisiana introduced us to one of the most colorful people we met on our trip, Kurt Smith.  Kurt is a rice farmer, and all around great guy, who lives in Oberlin, LA.  As we were leaving the local diner after having a small dinner, Kurt and his son, Kolby pulled up and asked us where we were staying.  We told him we were trying to make it to the next town by nightfall.  Sensing that we would probably not make it, Kurt offered us a camping spot on his farm.  We decided that would probably be a smart choice.

Once we got to his farm, Travis, Kurt's Dog, greeted us in the drive way. Talking with Kurt, he told us how he frequently lets bikers camp on his property.  After talking for some time, Kurt offered for us to sleep inside in the air conditioning.....Awesome!!!!!  He even ended up buying some pizzas for us.  Pizza, air conditioning, and a nice hot shower......Kurt spoiled us.  Throw his knucklehead dog Travis into the mix, and it was a great time.

The next morning, Kurt showed us around his farm before we had to set out.  Leaving Kurt's was hard to do.  He was such a good guy and treated us so good, you just wanted to stay and hang out some more with him.  But, there were miles to be ridden!  Thanks Kurt!
